Match report Midhurst arrived at London Road with only 10 men and and 3 of those "men" were under 15 including one 11 year old, so it was not surprising that the 2s strolled to victory in a game that was a dead rubber at the end of the season.

Midhurst batted first and were dismissed for 102. James Knight (1 for 12), Andy McMahon (2 for 24), Dave Webb (4 for 27), and Martin Roberts (2 for 16) took the wickets, but the bowling display was overshadowed by a fielding masterclass from Jos Clarke, who took 4 catches at short cover ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous.

In reply, stand-in skipper for the day, Dave Webb, opened up with Matt Knight and Stuart Summers. The latter looked like he was in a hurry to get to the bar to start celebrating his 40th birthday, and duly smashed the second rate bowling to all parts.

Matt Knight just wanted to make sure that he ended the season as the top runs scorer in the second team, which achieved with ease.

Summers was the only wicket to fall - caught on the boundary for a swaggering 59, and Knight ended on a comfortable 33 not out, with Robbie Hadfield chipping in with 7 not out to finish the game in just 9 overs.

The Midhusrt skipper put £20 behind the bar in way of apology for fielding such a poor side.
