Match report On Sat the 8 may Andover's 3rd XI had aq dissapointing start to the season. Andover lost the toss and was put in to bat first by opposition Steep. By the 12th over Andover was on a mere 56 runs for 7 wickets down, with only the Captain Pete van der Westhuizen (15) and Harry Blackburn (11) able to achieve double figures. With some desparate need for runs Matt Brown and Alex Aldridge (11) started to make a stand. After Aldridge's wicket fell Pete Roberts (35)helped Brown Struggle on and together they put on a 80 run partnership. Not long and Brown fell for LBW on an impressive 48 in the circumstances. Andover in the end had 165 all out and a reasonable target to bowl to. After tea Andover took to the field hoping to achieve what Steep did but soon realised that they had their work cut out. After a long batle Steep managed to get to the total with 10 overs spare and 7 wickets in hand. Their opening batt D Knight put on a impressive total of 95 not out. All the bowlers worked really hard and the field was impressive. Wickets went to Blackburn, Van Der Westhuizen and Aldridge. Andover travel to Rowledge on Sat in hope of a first win.
