Match report Andover 3rd XI travelled down to Rowledge on a hope to make a come back after the loss of last week. All started well with wining the toss and deciding to bowl first. The bowlers struggled and the runs came easy. Openers Brinsden and Mitchell soon passed their 50's and the total got bigger. The only bowlers that managed to go for less then 6 an over was D Cope and G Anderson. The fisrt wicket to fall was of Mitchell in the 35th over on an impressive 156. He was caught on the boundary off D Turner's bowling by P van der Westhuizen. Not long after Brinsdon (91) tried to get to his century a bit too quick and was stumped by J Halle-Smith off an impressive ball from Aldridge. The only other wicket to fall was B Wish for 0 when he was trapped LBW off P van der Westhuizen. Rowledge II's put on a massive 327 for the loss of 3 wickets and Andover had their work cut out. Andover top batting order managed to live up to their reputation with only P van der Westhuizen (18) showing a bit of resistance and by the 11th over was on a mere 24 for 4 wickets down. M Souter (20), A Aldridge (25) and P Roberts went hard at the massive target but was just not able to keep their wickets and Andover was soon all out for 130. Andover III's hope to gain some inspiration and runs when they travel to Hartley Witney on Sat the 22nd for the 3rd league game.
