Match report On Sat the 17th July Andover III's hosted OT's & Romsey II's in their 11th game of the league. Andover lost the toss and was told to bowl first on a very damp wicket. Andover's bowlers kept the pressure on but soon the opisition were on 90 for no wickets down. With some good bowling and field placing by Captain Van Der Westhuizen and Phil Knight the opposition lost a few quick wickets and were on 96 for 6. But the fresh batsmen decided it is time to get stuck in and batted slowly on and runs started to come more regurly and soon they were on 184 for 6. But it didnt last as Paul Barnard took a good catch in point to get Ryan Ward his first wicet for the III's. OT's ended their innings on a large 236 for 8. Wickets went to P van der Westhuizen (4 for 41), P Knight (3 for 48) and Ryan Ward (1 for 36). After tean Andover got stuck in and the opening batsmen J Halle-Smith (34) and H Blackburn (70) laid a solid foundation of 110 partnerhip, but unfortunaty for Andover the run rate increased and the batsmen collapsed with only P Barnard (19 not out) the only other batsmen to get in double figures. Andover ended their innings on 177 for 8. Andover III's are at home again tommorow against Hamble and will be looking to get out of the relegation zone once again.
