Match report Andover III returned to winning ways on Saturday with a convincing win over Oakley at London Road 2. Put into bat on a damp wicket, Andover III lost the early wickets of James Halle-Smith and Stuart Clackson. Shaun Attwood and Martin Roberts set about repairing the damage and put together a solid partnership before Attwood was caught on the boundary for 23. Roberts and Max Souter began to open up against the second string Oakley bowling and Roberts passed his fifty with a fine sweep shot. Souter fell for 20 and Roberts for 68 but Tim Brown 35 continued the fine stroke play and with help from the wagging tail Andover reached 239 for 9 from their 45 overs.

Oakley came out with guns ablazing and set about opening bowlers Nick Hargreaves and Max Souter, but they each stuck to their line a length and each picked up a wicket. The introduction of Phil Knight and Martin Roberts saw more wickets falling, Roberts following up his batting display with a wicket in each of his first three overs. The result was Andover were soon bowling at the tail and with Ben Knight picking up another 2 wickets and Andy McMahon taking the final wicket with his first ball Oakley were all out for 99 in the 20th over.

Andover III hope to continue this form when they travel to Alton III tomorrow.
