Andover Cricket Club 4th XI (Sat) v North Baddesley on Sat 23 Jul 2011 at 2:00pm
Andover Cricket Club Lost by 57 runs.

Match report Andover IV's poor run of form continued on Saturday against North Baddesley, as they lost by 57 runs.

Andover started brightly with Pete Roberts bowling well. Roberts removed R. Stevens (3) early, and the wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Hamish Morton bowled well (5.0-1-14-1) as did Fran Andrews (10.0-1-22-1), and Andy MacMahon removed the danger man of Ahmud Parvais (29) and the opposing captain, Richard Williams (5). Despite some late acceleration from N. Small (40), Andover were able to restrict North Baddesley to a total of 147 and felt rightly confident of reaching the total.

Andover started well with Pete Roberts hitting out against North Baddesley's openers, scoring a devastating 27 before looping a ball to mid-off. Jody Everett batted sensibly before being given out LBW on 13, starting a short downward spiral for the home side. Parvais proved the most dangerous with the ball, taking five wickets for 19 runs in his eight over spell, with only Alex Aldridge (19) providing some resistance. Andover were 76-7 in short order after drinks, and in spite of a desperate rear-guard action by MacMahon (6), skipper Goodman (9), and Andrews (4 not out), Andover were bowled out in the 33rd over for 90, with Harry Williams (9.2-6-4-3) taking the final wicket to seal the loss.

Next week, Andover IV's are away at Wellow & Plaitford II's.
