Liphook & Ripsley v Andover Cricket Club 1st XI (Sat) on Sat 26 May 2018 at 13:00
Andover Cricket Club Won by five wickets

Match report Nordlock sponsored Andover 1st XI made the long journey to Liphook worthwhile by returning with a comfortable victory.
Skipper Matt Hooper continued his coin tossing form by winning his fourth in a row and electing to field first on a lively Liphook pitch. Opening bowlers Asher Hart and Mike Adams made early in-roads into the Liphook line-up, both taking a wicket apiece to remove the Covey brothers, Ryan and Richard. At 19-2 off the first ten overs, Liphook took their time to rebuild with the in-form Harry Munt playing a more watchful role than he is accustomed to. A game-changing couple of overs saw Richard Williams trapped LBW off Mike Adams for 17, soon followed by a superb run-out from Will Arnold, removing the dangerous Munt for 45.
Hooper rotated his bowlers well, giving twin debutants Rowan and Andrew Duckworth their full ten overs each and both picking up one wicket for their efforts. When Hart was brought back into the attack with Adams, wickets started to tumble. With the score on 106-6, the innings could have gone one of two ways but tight bowling and excellent fielding from Andover kept the pressure right on the hosts. Hart claimed three more wickets to give himself figures of 4-32 whilst Adams was once again the pick of the bowlers with 3-13 off 9.1 overs. Credit must also go to Nathan Birks behind the stumps for the first time this season, taking four catches and letting no byes through. Liphook crashed to 157 all out in the 45th over and Andover could sense victory was on the horizon if they batted well.
Opener Ali Hooper made his intentions clear from the start by smearing ten off the first Jack Campbell over. He was soon gone though for a bright and breezy 13, followed by Richard Taylor’s 6 runs, leaving Andrew Duckworth and Asher Hart to consolidate. The young debutant looked at ease with the step up in standard and put together a well-made 12, adding 40 runs to the total with Hart. When both fell in quick succession, Andover were at risk of making hard-work of the run chase but a splendid innings from Will Arnold, in partnership with first Luke Andrews and then Nathan Birks, saw the town side home with ease. Arnold ended 35 not out with two fours and a huge six into the adjacent field. Andrews offered support with 10 runs and Birks wrapped things up with another impressive innings of 26 not out. The Liphook total was chased down in the 38th over and Andover claimed the maximum points victory.
Andover return to action at London Road on Saturday when they host a struggling Hartley Wintney side.
