Trojans III v Andover Cricket Club 4th XI (Sat) on Sat 05 Aug 2017 at 2pm
Andover Cricket Club Won 1 wicket

Match report Crikey, surely the Sky cricket classics producers will wish they could have been there to see the climax of the NW3 promotion clash between Andover and Trojans. They might have witnessed a run chase that will live long in the memory of the victorious town side but perhaps longer in the memories of the defeated Trojans.
Andover won the toss and elected to field first on a very green strip. The Trojans side rely almost exclusively on the runs of skipper Williams so Andover's bowlers were tasked with either getting him out or getting out everyone else. As expected, it proved an easier task getting rid of everyone else and all of the town bowlers worked tirelessly to achieve this. Brendan Clarke led the way with an exceptional 10 overs that returned 1 for 29 but it was the run out of the Trojan's skipper for 88 that was a big moment in the game. Excellent work from Brandon Smith and stand in keeper Dan Du Heaume was likely the difference between a score that reached 189 all out and one that might have pushed 230.
The Andover reply got off to a sticky start. Though Josh Elliott (22) stuck around, the top order did not fire at all. The task simply looked too much despite a bit of resistance from Tom Hull (16) and Clarke (15). Credit must go to Trojan's young spinner Singh, he returned 4 for 16 from his 10.
It is now though that the story of the game really begins. Staring defeat in the face on 114 for 9 an injured Ben Black joined young Oliver Crouch out in the middle. Perhaps it was only these two that saw any potential for a win as they began to chip away at the 76 runs needed for a most unlikely result.
The Trojan's skipper saw the danger as he brought himself on to try and upset the run chase. Ben Black's casual dismissal of this over was something to see, It included a glorious 6 flicked away over the leg side boundary. The busy little Crouch (31 not out) ably supported Black (48 not out) in the chase and to the utter delight of the watching Andover side, these two heroes claimed victory with a couple of balls remaining. Andover leapfrog Trojans in the table and promotion is now a very real possibility. Classic.
