Burridge II v Andover Cricket Club 2nd XI (Sat) on Sat 02 Jun 2018 at 13:00
Andover Cricket Club Lost By 167 runs

Match report Andover 2nd XI made the journey down to Burridge last week, in search of their first win of this years campaign. On a sticky, grassy pitch skipper James Knight opted to bowl first.

The Town side made a strong start with Tom Morton removing White in the second over for a duck and James Knight keeping things tight at the other end. When these two finished their opening spells, Burridge were struggling at 20 - 1 off 12 overs. From here, however, Burridge batted sensibly, gradually accumulating runs and picking off singles where possible. Despite a tight 10 over spell from Ollie Palmer (2 - 41) Burridge kept wickets in hand and with a late push, reached a competitive 233 - 6 at the break.

Andover were confident in reposte, but their innings never got going. Poor shots and lapses in concentration marred the innings, as they were unable to dig in as Burridge had to set a platform. With wickets falling at regular intervals, Andover were skittled out for just 70, marking a disappointing defeat for the 2s.

Andover host St Cross Symondians at home next week, hoping to get that first victory of the season.
